总的来说,这些目标是十分模糊而不明所以的,具体来说,就是不知道做到什么程度算完成,没有子任务、程序与进度;没有项目的的背景和目标,我们更不知道完成这个之后到底有什么用,也就是说,没有驱动力。

六点提示

Organize by project, not by topic (such as psychology or marketing) or kind of information (quotes, book notes, insights)

这里的项目,和 GTD 中的项目清单很像,如果你现在的做的事情不在你的项目清单,你应该考虑立个项,而不是无脑的把任务 LINK 几个 TOPIC 就完事了。要不然最后受苦的是你自己。

日常的所有任务,应该放在一个项目中去,而不是孤零零的一项任务;

Projects have a goal and a completion date; Areas have a standard to maintain indefinitely

每个项目都应该有一个 Deadline,而长期目标就应该有一套 Standard / Soft Rule 去维护基本秩序;

Areas are ongoing responsibilities (for personally relevant info); Resources are interests or research (for generally useful info)

ongoing responsibilities: 长期责任;

领域是你长期负责的东西,无线责任制,而资源则是你感兴趣去研究的东西,比如 PKM 和 Logseq,都应该放在 Resource 中去;

Project: short-term effort in your work or life that you’re working on now.

  • 工作生活中短期的目标,是一定要具体并且拥有 Deadline 的目标;比如产品发布会、生日派对、推销演讲、马拉松训练;
  • 最有可操作性 (actionable);

Area: long-term responsibility you want to manage over time.

  • 我的身份,需要长期负责的事情和人,是有方法论可言的东西,最好有一套个人软规则,如健康、财务、生产力、以及关系;

Resource: topics or interests that maybe useful in the future.

  • 你感兴趣,并且关心的东西,也许是对未来有用的资源,属于是收藏癖的专属分类了;如小说、动漫、游戏、钓鱼等,可以说是自己的兴趣所在。

Archive: inactive items from the other three category

  • 已经不感兴趣,完成,或者放弃的东西,主要手机为上述三项;如完成的事、不再活跃的项目、去年的马拉松。之前的项目 当然,北欧人除外。

Tip

我鼓捣很多东西,这些东西当然都算作我的爱好。 比如游戏和生产力相比,显然我对前者的执着,是没法跟生产力比的。 那么,这些各异的爱好应该如何区分?怎么区分放在 2A / 3R 的爱好?

答案是,用功利的想法考虑这些事情,如果不做这件事情也没有什么后果,那么放在 3R 中,反之就是 2A,比如一个人不关注自己的财务、健康,那么第二天可能就会变成无家可归的流浪汉。

  • Learn JavaScript (has a deadline)
Area Examples
  • Bills (if I don’t pay these, I get in trouble; MAINTAIN + CONSEQUENCE)
  • Health Tracker (live longer; I have to MAINTAIN it, or I die sooner; MAINTAIN + CONSEQUENCE)
  • Personal Website/Blog (online presence and branding; I need to maintain this otherwise content goes stale, security holes open up from no patches, etc. MAINTAIN + CONSEQUENCE)
  • Investments (we all want more money to feed ourselves and retire. MAINTAIN + CONSEQUENCE. But if YOU don’t care about retirement or money, then this is not an Area for you.)
Resources
  • Linux Communities (doesn’t matter if I look at it or not)
  • Games (not essential to my life, but fun; no consequences if I don’t maintain my game library)
  • Funny Gifs (maybe essential to my Slacks; not the end of the world if I don’t maintain this)
